The largest prerequisite block in dental hygiene admissions — required at virtually every CODA-accredited program. Two-semester A&P sequence with lab, regionally accredited through UIU, self-paced.
Anatomy & Physiology is CODA Standard 2-8b's most heavily weighted requirement. The A&P curriculum directly maps to DH program content in head and neck anatomy, oral histology and embryology, and local anesthesia administration. Programs use A&P grades as one of the primary academic predictors of clinical success. Most CODA programs require both semesters with a minimum grade of C or better, and most impose a 5-year recency rule.
